Aluminium Composite Panels
At General Plastic Ballarat we have aluminium composite panels which are used for cladding factories and showrooms giving a modern, new look. Composite panels are also widely used in the sign industry as it is lighter than flat, rigid sheeting.
AluCOMP has a three-layer composition with the top and bottom layers aluminium sheet and the centre core a low density polyethylene. The paint finish is a high strength polyester coating which is acid, alkali and solvent resistant. These come in a range of colours which cut down on production time and being a light, rigid panel, installation time is reduced.
The aluminium composite panels can be easily rolled, curved and fabricated and if corner angles are needed, panels can be routered to allow it to bend to the right angles.

Acrylic Sheet (Perspex)
Acrylic sheet, or some people call it Perspex which is a particular brand name of acrylic sheet. Acrylic is an outstanding product that offers optical clarity, impact and weather resistance, is ideal for the glazing, signage, point of sale promotions, business card holders, menu and display holders.
At General Plastic Ballarat we have perspex sheets available in a full range of thicknesses, sheet sizes, colours and tints. These include clear, opal, colours, tints and mirror in 2mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 8mm,10mm and 15mm thick. Full perspex sheets range from 2440 x 1220mm, 2440 x 1830mm and 3050mm x 2030mm or cut to size.
We can do some special sizes on request. We also cater for other acrylic applications for example Mild and High Impact Acrylic in Clear and Opal. Gallery grade acrylic is another of our stocked items for that extra special Framing display. 100% UV and 100% UV with anti Glare Plexiglas.

Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is an ideal general purpose plastic which can be used for everyday use where exposure to outdoor conditions is minimal. At General Plastic Ballarat we have polycarbonate sheets available in clear, opal and tint and are UV protected.
Polycarbonate sheeting can be thermoformed or cold formed and its impact resistance makes it ideal for the building, marine, security and transport industries. It is suitable for louvers, windows partitions, safety guards, sneeze guards and screens.
General purpose polycarbonate sheets are ultra violet protected and hardcoat with grades are in clear, opal and tints. Sheets come in 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 9.5mm and 12mm thickness with sheet sizes 2440 x 1220mm and 2440 x 1830mm.
Polycarbonate Sheet Range
- Abrasion Resistant Polycarbonate MR10 – ideal for balustrades, security panels or high traffic areas that stand up to constant handling.
- MRA3 Polycarbonate – high impact resistance and excellent abrasion resistance. Suits indoors where not exposed to UV light. Suits correctional services, banks, hospitals, transportation and schools.
- Polycarbonate Tube – tough and easy to handle, suitable for site glass application.

Polypropylene
Polypropylene sheets is an extremely hard plastic which can tolerate harsh chemicals and high temperatures proving to be excellent in areas where corrosive chemicals are used.
At General Plastic Ballarat we have a range of polypropylene products available in clear, opal and tint – all are UV protected. Polypropylene is used in the mining, laboratory, automotive, galvanising, electro-plating industries as well as for educational facilities.
Our polypropylene flute (coreflute) twinwall is available in white, black, red, yellow and blue in 3mm, 3.3mm and 5mm thick in various sheet sizes. Polypropylene/polyethelene sheets and blocks are available in a range of density and thickness with colours including natural, black or grey. Recycled sheet products are available for lining and construction use from 1mm up in thickness.

Used for architecture models, actual signage. Available in seven grades VH to recylced letter computer cut. All available with different urethane coatings for withstanding weather.
High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)
High impact plastics used in toys and product castings. This is available in white and black in 0.5mm to 3mm thick in three sheet sizes.
ABS Plastic (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
Similar to HIPS often used for electronics in the marine and automotive industries.

PVC Foamex/Forex
A rigid, compressed foam PVC sheeting available in several bright colours. PVC foam is ideal to silk screen, airbrush, hand paint or apply vinyl graphics. Suits display boards, signage or portable display stands.
